Ministries

Christian Fellowship is a necessary ingredient of our church. For everyone of every age, the church need not be just a Sunday experience. What follows is a sampling of the activities of the Alexandria United Methodist Church. Whether you are married or single, a man or woman of any age, student or a child, we have a ministry for you.

Youth Group

Young people grades six through twelve are encouraged to participate in the Methodist Youth Fellowship. The students have activities each Wednesday evening encompassing social activities, visitation of the shut-in of our congregation at special times of the year with 'goodies' and smiles, and special studies of interest to their particular age groups.

The youth group meets every Wednesday night at 6:00 pm and begins with a dinner.

This group meets most Wednesday evenings from 7pm until 8 pm. This is an opportunity to join with other men with the objective of holding each other accountable.

Men's Prayer Breakfast

For many, many years the men of our Church have sponsored a Men's Prayer Breakfast at the church. It includes men who attend our Church, as well as those from other congregations. It is open to all. There is fellowship, prayer and usually a good "harvest-hand" breakfast. Men and Boys are invited.

Special Events

Throughout the year, the congregation is able to join in Christian Fellowship by participating in many special events: "potluck" suppers, Christmas caroling, the decorating of the "Christmas Tree", Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Breakfast, ice cream socials, youth camps, Vacation Bible School, Youth Events / study week (Junior High and Senior High) and Harvest party, just to name a few.

Fellowship Hall

Located on the lower level of the Church Building, Fellowship Hall accommodates 200 people comfortably. If needed, Sunday School rooms can be used for additional seating for large functions.

We look forward to many uses for this hall - receptions, plays, meeting space, pot luck dinners, craft work area, games for young and old, and middle-aged too.
